Tableau and Power BI are the two dominant tools for data visualization, and the problem is that they are similar enough that the choice of which to learn, and which course to take, is genuinely confusing. The comparison that matters is the job market and the tool’s fit with your role, because the skill in either transfers to the other far more than beginners expect. The two tools overlap heavily, both build dashboards, both connect to data, both do the same job, and the real difference is the ecosystem, with Power BI favored in Microsoft-heavy workplaces and Tableau favored in more design-focused and standalone contexts. The job market slightly favors Power BI by volume, while Tableau commands a premium in roles where visual polish matters, and the practical choice is often whichever your target employer uses, since the concepts transfer. The training for both is affordable and strong, with free official resources
